Teijin Frontier to Exhibit High-performance Fabrics at Performance Days
The Teijin Frontier stand (No. I 10) will present hybrid materials that offer excellent combinations of performance, appearance and texture for sportswear. It will also introduce various environmentally friendly materials, including recycled fibers, bio-derived materials and fluorocarbon-free durable water-repellent materials.
Specific exhibits will include the following:
- DELTAPEAK®
This next-generation fabric closely integrates physical properties, functionality and quality. Along with softness, durability and elasticity, its dense, flat-knit surface provides ultraviolet protection, anti-transparency and snag resistance.
- Octa® Tricot Fabric
Teijin Frontier's new line in the Octa series is a bulky tricot material featuring an integrated structure for insulation and lining, with Octa used for the fabric's pile surface. Octa offers a unique, highly modified cross section of eight projecting fins aligned in a radial pattern around a hollow fiber.
- SOLOTEX®
This polytrimethylene terephthalate fiber is highly soft, stretchable, shape retaining and durable. As a partially bio-derived material, it also helps to conserve fossil resources. The exhibit will additionally present a new textile for mass production developed by a Teijin Frontier group's manufacturer in Thailand.
- Fluorocarbon-free durable water-repellent materials
Teijin Frontier has lineups of fluorocarbon-free durable water-repellent materials. Fluorocarbon is a halocarbon in which certain hydrogen atoms are replaced with fluorine, which is a greenhouse gas targeted under the Kyoto Protocol and thought to be harmful to the human body as well the environment.
