Tokyo, Japan --- Teijin Pharma Limited, the core company of the Teijin Group's healthcare business, announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Teijin Home Healthcare Limited, will change its name to Teijin Healthcare Limited with effect from April 1, 2020.

Teijin Pharma Limited restructured its organization in October 2019 with the aim of enhancing medical services in each regional area of Japan and supporting the development of community-based integrated care systems. By continuing its dialogue with physicians and other healthcare providers, Teijin Pharma Limited aims to team up with them in the provision of comprehensive solutions throughout the entire care cycle, from the prevention of illness to treatment, rehabilitation and nursing care.

The restructuring involved shifting from a dual business unit structure comprising Pharmaceutical and Home Healthcare units to a functional structure with one part of the organization responsible for Marketing & Sales and the other taking care of Research, Development and Technology. Concurrently, other functions in Teijin Pharma Limited , such as pharmaceutical information supply and sales and service capabilities for home medical devices, were concentrated and unified under Teijin Home Healthcare Limited.

Teijin Pharma Limited aims to achieve sustainable growth by combining the strengths of the Pharmaceutical and Home Healthcare Businesses and creating a unique community-based sales model across the Teijin Group that supports medical care by means of a team effort by staff from a variety of functions.

The change in company name to Teijin Healthcare Limited symbolizes the company's aim of promoting wider-ranging activities in the healthcare industry from the beginning of the new fiscal year. All members of Teijin Pharma Limited will continue to contribute to increasing the awareness of the Teijin brand in the industry, at the same time striving to improve patients' quality of life.
