Tokyo, Japan, April 21, 2015 --- Teijin Limited announced today that it will exhibit NanoGram Si (silicon) ink/paste, a printable electronic material for conversion- and cost-efficient photovoltaic (PV) cells, at SNEC PV POWER EXPO 2015, one of the world’s largest trade shows for PV power and related technologies, materials and devices. The expo will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in China from April 28 to 30.
The Teijin booth (W4-518) will display NanoGram Si ink/paste under an accelerated marketing initiative aimed at the material’s early adoption for highly conversion-efficient PV cells. Teijin is co-developing NanoGram Si ink/paste in collaboration with PV cell manufacturers for the eventual production of highly conversion-efficient PV cells on a commercial basis. Applications for semiconductors are also being developed.
NanoGram Si ink/paste is distinguished by its 20nm- to 30nm-diameter high-purity, extra-stable silicon nanoparticles containing impurities such as boron and phosphorus. The material can be printed and heated on a silicon wafer to form a high-performance, impurity-diffused layer. Teijin has also developed proprietary technologies for the laser processing of NanoGram Si ink/paste after screen-printing to raise conversion efficiency by a further 0.5% in L-BSF PV cells. This outcome has been verified using a six-inch PV cell developed together with Fraunhofer ISE.
NanoGram Si ink/paste was developed by NanoGram Corporation, which became a Teijin subsidiary in 2010.
This will be Teijin’s second participation in SNEC PV POWER EXPO, which expects to attract approximately 1,500 professionals from 90 countries.
