Tokyo, Japan, January 27, 2014 --- Teijin Limited announced today that it will participate in nano tech 2014 (International Nanotechnology Exhibition and Conference), the world’s largest nanotechnology show, at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo, Japan from January 29 to January 31.
Teijin received a Grand Award at nano tech 2013 for its display of high-potential technologies and their wide-ranging applications in life sciences, energy efficiency, air purification, water filtration, energy and apparel. This year, Teijin’s booth (Stand4B-13) will exhibit another wide range of impressive nanotechnologies, including the following:
-NANOFRONT: An ultra-fine long fiber with an unprecedented diameter of just 700 nanometers for diverse applications including clothing, energy-saving sliding paper-doors, masks, cosmetics and other daily necessities.
-Aramid nanofiber: Highly heat-resistant nonwoven sheet based on Teijinconex.
-Carbon nanotube fiber (under development): 100%-carbon long-filament nanotube combining high thermal and electrical conductivity similar to a metal with the flexibility, ruggedness and strength of a textile fiber, made by stacking and orienting the nanotubes along the fiber axis, followed by wet spinning.
-High-performance membranes: High-precision polyethylene membrane for applications such as micro filters, and multi-layer membrane with wet composite coating for applications such as LIELSORT high-capacity battery separator.
-Carbon nanofiber (under development): Highly conductive carbon nanofiber with the world’s-first elliptical cross-section consisting of well-developed graphite layers ordered in a single direction, with envisioned uses in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles, as well as capacitors, electrode additives, plastic additives, fuel-cell gas-diffusion layers and plastic-reinforcing materials.
-Silicon ink and paste: Advanced materials expected to be used in printable electronics (semiconductors) to significantly cut the costs of solar cells and displays.
