Partnership with Envision Racing Formula E Team

Teijin Group is proud partner of Envision Racing since 2020. Envision Racing participates in the electric racing series, ABB FIA Formula E World Championship which aspires to raise awareness of the climate crisis and accelerate the switch to electric mobility.

Why Do We Support the Team?

Envision Racing, the first carbon neutral certified team, inspires generations to take action to tackle climate change and transition to e-mobility and renewable energy in order to accelerate the Race Against Climate Change™. The team worked closely with the UK COP26 Presidency to raise awareness of the Summit and to highlight the urgent need to transition to clean mobility and continues its support in the work behind the COP26 declaration on ZEVs through a series of events and races.

The Teijin Group shares the team's mission and values. That is why we not only convey our message on "climate change mitigation and adaptation" to a wide range of stakeholders globally, but promote our technologies and products that are helping to reduce the automotive industry's environmental impact through supporting Envision Racing. We also actively participate in the team's event, "Race Against Climate Change™" and we join the panels on sustainability related topics such as sustainable cities.

Our flame-retardant Teijinconex® neo meta-aramid is used for the racing suit, contributing to improved safety and wearability for racers.

Our Tenax™ carbon fiber is used for the body of the world's first two-seater racing car, contributing to its light-weighting and energy efficiency.

By eliminating the use of fossil fuels to power vehicles and minimizing CO2 emissions in its operations, it's the world's first ever net-zero carbon sport. The races are held in major cities around the world thanks to EV's low-noise and non-emission properties.

There are never same tracks as cities have different features, which is the one of the highlights of Formula E, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

"Gen3", the third generation racer introduced from Season 9, is the intersection of performance, efficiency and sustainability. Fastest, lightest and most efficient with more than 40% of the energy used within a race produced by regenerative braking.
